What is Eco-Build?

Eco-Build is a directory of local suppliers, builders and designers contributing to sustainable development on Salt Spring Island. Not all businesses on Eco-Build are 100 percent green but they can provide you with products, services and advice to help you decide how best to reduce your environmental impact while building, renovating, landscaping or simply enjoying your home, office and land.

Local businesses providing Eco-efficient products and services that may be used to build renovate or improve the sustainability of development on the island.
Why do we need Eco-Build?

Salt Spring is developing and we can all help to ensure that it is developed sustainably. Thankfully along with property development demand for sustainable building design, products and services is also increasing and many of our local designers, builders and suppliers are responding.

Eco-Build aims to encourage these initiatives by helping new and existing residents find local designers, builders and suppliers who can help them to make sustainable choices.

Sustainability can be a “many splendored thing”, uncovering, illuminating, and advancing all that makes up an enriching, vibrant, and healthful quality of life. While many humans likely have an innate sense of what sustainability is and how it can be nurtured, we all probably can benefit from further exploring, contemplating, practicing, and evolving our sustainability ideas at home, work, and play.
